Ama Affiliate Pro vs AmaLinks Pro: Both Work Without the API. Then What?

Comparison

Two plugins that both solve the API problem — and diverge sharply after that

AmaLinks Pro and Ama Affiliate Pro agree on the thing most Amazon plugins get wrong: a new affiliate should not be blocked by API approval they cannot get yet. Where they part company is what the plugin does once the products are in.

No API needed, both Displays vs upkeep Who writes it Honest verdict

Who wrote this. We make Ama Affiliate Pro, so we are one of the two products on this page and we are not a neutral party. What we can offer instead of neutrality is checkability: every row in the table below is a feature that either exists or does not, and you can confirm each one on AmaLinks Pro’s own site in about five minutes. Where AmaLinks Pro is the better choice, this page says so and names who should buy it.

The short version

  • Both work without Amazon API approval. If that is your problem, either one solves it and you should pick on the rest.
  • AmaLinks Pro is a display builder and a well-regarded one. Text links, image links, CTA buttons, showcases, tables.
  • We add the two things after display: writing the articles, and keeping the products and links inside them alive.
  • If you have fewer than about fifty posts, the upkeep tools will not earn their keep yet. They are the argument for the switch and they need a site with something to maintain.
  • Check both licence models before deciding on price — this is where they differ most and where published comparisons go stale fastest.

What each one actually is

AmaLinks Pro

A WordPress plugin for building Amazon product displays — text links, image links, call-to-action buttons, showcase boxes and comparison tables — with a long-standing focus on being usable by affiliates who do not have Product Advertising API access. Its pitch has always been “get products into your post without fighting Amazon for credentials first”.

Ama Affiliate Pro

A WordPress plugin that writes the five kinds of article an Amazon affiliate site needs, keeps the products inside them alive as they go out of stock, records which article earns rather than which is busy, and sends international readers to their own Amazon store. Ultra adds an agent that decides which of those to do today.

Feature by feature

Only checkable capabilities are in this table. Nothing here is a judgement about which tool is nicer to use — that is not something a tick can honestly represent.

Where AmaLinks Pro is the better answer

Written first, and at length, because it is the part of a comparison page that is usually missing and the part that decides whether you should trust the rest of it.

The display builder is its whole product, and that focus shows

AmaLinks Pro has spent years on the specific problem of getting a good-looking, correctly attributed Amazon element into a WordPress post without a lot of ceremony. If what you want is a fast, pleasant way to drop a CTA button or a showcase into a paragraph you are already writing, a tool that does only that will usually feel better than a tool that does fifteen things.

Less to learn and less to switch off

Our plugin has ten admin screens and sixteen growth tools. Somebody who wants product boxes and nothing else has to walk past all of it, and there is a real cost to that. A narrower tool is a legitimate preference, not a compromise.

No AI anywhere near your content

For some niches and some audiences, AI-assisted drafting is a liability rather than an advantage — and for publishers who have decided that, half of what we sell is dead weight they are still paying for. AmaLinks Pro does not put that decision in front of you.

Choose AmaLinks Pro if:

  • You want product displays and nothing else.
  • You write every word yourself and intend to keep it that way.
  • Your site is new enough that there is nothing yet to maintain.
  • You prefer a small tool with a small surface.

Where Ama Affiliate Pro is the better answer

What happens to the products in month nine

A product that goes out of stock or is discontinued keeps rendering, keeps being clicked, and earns nothing — indefinitely, silently. The Product Health Monitor checks every ASIN on the site on a schedule, lists the dead ones with the posts they appear in, and swaps one for a replacement everywhere at once. On a two-year-old site this is routinely the largest single leak, and no display-focused plugin has a reason to look for it.

The articles themselves

Five types, because a site of nothing but reviews never grows: the traffic arrives on the questions around a purchase and converts on the review it links to. On your own AI provider key, at that provider’s rates, with no word limit and no credits.

Which article earns

Visits, where they came from, and the Amazon click rate for that specific post, in one table stored in your own database. That is the number that changes what you do next, and it does not exist in an analytics tool or in Associates Central alone.

Choose Ama Affiliate Pro if:

  • Your site is past the point where you can remember what is in it.
  • You want articles produced as well as products displayed.
  • You suspect some of your older posts have dead products in them and have no way to check.
  • You want a licence that covers writing, analytics and maintenance rather than three tools.

What each one costs to run

Prices change without notice. Both figures below were checked on VERIFY and are here so the shape of the difference is visible, not as a quotation. Check both on the sellers’ own pages before you decide anything.

AmaLinks Pro

Licence tiers by site count. Check the current pricing and renewal terms on amalinkspro.com.

Ama Affiliate Pro

A licence with a lifetime option, plus your own AI provider account billed directly by that provider.

Both are licences rather than subscriptions, which makes this the most like-for-like price comparison in this pack — and also the one most likely to be out of date by the time you read it. Check both.

What moving actually involves

The honest part of any switch. Nobody’s migration is free, and a page that pretends otherwise is setting up a refund.

Different shortcodes, so run both while you convert

Leave existing posts rendering through AmaLinks Pro, write new ones with ours, and convert older posts in batches. Deactivating the old plugin before converting its shortcodes is the one thing that will visibly break pages.

Hand-typed Amazon links convert automatically

On most sites these outnumber the plugin shortcodes. The Growth Tools converter rewrites them to our shortcode with the anchor text intact, so they pick up your current tag and click tracking. Dry-run it on one post and back up the database before the site-wide pass.

The verdict

These two plugins agree about the most important thing in the category — that API approval should not be a prerequisite for building a site — so the choice comes down to scope. AmaLinks Pro is a display builder and a focused one; if that is the job, buying more tool than you need is not a virtue. Our case is entirely about what comes after display: the writing, and the slow decay of a site nobody is auditing. On a fifteen-post site that case is weak. On a four-hundred-post site it is most of the value.

Compared with the others

The same nine capabilities, applied to every alternative: all the comparisons in one table. If you are still deciding what kind of tool you need at all, the playbook walks through the stages of an affiliate site and names which problems a plugin solves and which it cannot.

Common questions

Do either of these need Amazon API access?

No, and that is the main thing they have in common. Both are built for affiliates who do not yet have Product Advertising API credentials, which matters because Amazon generally wants qualifying sales before granting them and you need a working site to make those sales.

Can I run both plugins at once?

Yes. They use different shortcodes and do not conflict, which is the sensible way to migrate. Convert your highest-traffic posts first, check them, and leave the rest for a week.

Which produces better-looking product boxes?

A matter of taste, and not one a comparison table can settle. Look at both. Ours are fully clickable at amawp.com/inside-the-plugin/ with no sign-up, and AmaLinks Pro publishes examples of theirs.

I only have twenty posts. Is the maintenance side worth anything to me?

Not yet, honestly. Twenty posts is a site you can audit by hand in an afternoon. Come back to that argument at a hundred, or when you notice you have stopped knowing which products are still available.

Does Ama Affiliate Pro replace my SEO plugin?

No. It has an SEO audit, an internal-linking tool, a duplicate finder and it writes schema for the articles it generates, but Yoast or Rank Math still own your titles, meta and sitemaps. The two are complementary and both should be installed.

What is the “Magic Reviewer”?

A writing mode for products that are not on Amazon at all — software, a service, a course — where you enter the details by hand and the article is written around them. It exists because most affiliate sites eventually want to review something Amazon does not sell.

Will switching plugins hurt my rankings?

Changing what renders a product box does not change the article text, title, URL or internal links, so there is no mechanism for it to. What can hurt is a heavier layout or one that shifts while loading — check Core Web Vitals on one converted page before converting the site.

You sell one of these. How is this comparison fair?

It is not neutral and it says so at the top. What it is instead is checkable: every row in the table exists or does not, and you can confirm each one on AmaLinks Pro’s own site. Where they are the better buy — a small site, a display-only need, no interest in AI — this page says so plainly.
