EasyAzon or Ama Affiliate Pro — the same problem, twelve years apart
EasyAzon solved “adding an Amazon link takes too long”. That is still a real problem, but EasyAzon is no longer the answer to it: the plugin was pulled from WordPress.org in 2024. What changed is that the job grew: the link is now the easy part, and keeping four hundred of them alive is the hard part.
Who wrote this. We make Ama Affiliate Pro, so we are one of the two products on this page and we are not a neutral party. What we can offer instead of neutrality is checkability: every row in the table below is a feature that either exists or does not, and you can confirm each one on EasyAzon’s own site in about five minutes. Where EasyAzon is the better choice, this page says so and names who should buy it.
EasyAzon is no longer a live product (checked 1 October 2026). Its WordPress.org listing was closed on 4 June 2024 with the reason given as “Security Issue”, and easyazon.com now sends visitors straight to getaawp.com, the AAWP website. If EasyAzon is still installed on your site, read this page as a migration guide rather than a comparison.
The short version
- EasyAzon is a link-insertion tool with localisation and product pop-ups. Narrow, fast, and still fine at that.
- The job outgrew link insertion. On a mature site the expensive problems are dead products, unmonetised posts and not knowing which article earns.

- Both localise international links. Ours routes on the reader’s real country rather than browser language, which matters more than it sounds.
- EasyAzon is no longer sold or listed. WordPress.org closed it for a security issue in June 2024, and easyazon.com now redirects to AAWP. If it is still installed, plan the move.
What each one actually is
EasyAzon
One of the original Amazon affiliate plugins for WordPress. Its purpose is speed of link creation — insert an Amazon link without leaving the editor, with localisation for international readers and pop-up product information — and for a long stretch it was the standard answer for anyone who wanted to stop copying URLs out of Amazon by hand.
Ama Affiliate Pro
A WordPress plugin that writes the five kinds of article an Amazon affiliate site needs, keeps the products inside them alive as they go out of stock, records which article earns rather than which is busy, and sends international readers to their own Amazon store. Ultra adds an agent that decides which of those to do today.

What EasyAzon did well, and what a replacement should match
These are the reasons people chose EasyAzon in the first place. Whatever you replace it with should match them.
Inserting a link is genuinely faster
EasyAzon’s whole design is around not leaving the editor. If your working day is writing in WordPress and reaching for products as you go, a tool built entirely around that motion beats a tool where product insertion is one of many screens. We are honest about this: our shortcode reference and compare builder are good, but they are not as quick as a search box in the editor toolbar.
It is small, and small has real advantages
Fewer moving parts, less to configure, less that can conflict with a theme or another plugin, and less to understand before you can use it. A large plugin has a maintenance and complexity cost that gets paid by the site owner, and it is fair to weigh that.
Localisation was solved here first
International link localisation has been part of EasyAzon for a very long time and is well-trodden ground in it. Any replacement should match it with a real tracking ID per country, not just a redirect.

- Whether it localises links with your own tracking ID for each store.
- Whether it is still listed and updated, which is the test EasyAzon failed.
Where Ama Affiliate Pro is the better answer
The problems a mature site actually has
Discontinued products still rendering and earning nothing. Published posts with real traffic and no Amazon element in them at all. Orphan articles nothing links to. Near-duplicate posts competing with each other. A media library of images nothing uses. Sixteen tools address these, and none of them is a thing a link-insertion plugin has any reason to look for.
Content production, not just link production
Five article types written on your own AI key: single review, comparison, Top 5, plain informational and a Magic Reviewer for non-Amazon products. Bulk runs execute server-side, so a batch of two hundred keeps going after you close the browser.
Analytics that names the article
Visits and Amazon clicks in the same row, per post, in your own database. It is the only place the sentence “this article has 1,400 readers and earns nothing” can be true and visible at the same time.
Choose Ama Affiliate Pro if:
- Your site is old enough that some of its products have certainly died.
- You want the articles written as well as the links inserted.
- You have never been able to see which specific post produces your Amazon clicks.
- You are rebuilding or consolidating an older affiliate site.
What each one costs to run
Prices change without notice. Neither side is quoted as a price here, on purpose: the shape of the difference lasts longer than any figure. Check both on the sellers’ own pages before you decide anything.

Ama Affiliate Pro
A licence with a lifetime option, plus your own AI provider account billed by that provider.
On an older site the more useful arithmetic is not licence against licence. It is: how many of my product links are dead right now, how much traffic is landing on posts with nothing to click, and what is that worth per month? Run the Product Health Monitor once during the trial and the answer stops being hypothetical.
What moving actually involves
The honest part of any switch. Nobody’s migration is free, and a page that pretends otherwise is setting up a refund.
Hand-typed and shortcode links are different jobs
Our Growth Tools converter finds manually inserted Amazon URLs anywhere in your content and rewrites them to our shortcode, anchor text preserved, so they inherit your current tag, nofollow setting and click tracking. Another plugin’s shortcodes are not touched by it — those need converting post by post, or leaving in place with the old plugin still active.
Run both, convert gradually, deactivate last
The only way to break pages is to deactivate the old plugin while posts still contain its shortcodes. Keep it active until you have converted them.
Back up before the site-wide pass
The converter says this itself and means it: the replacement cannot be undone automatically. Test on one post first.
The verdict
EasyAzon solved the problem of 2013 well, and that problem has not disappeared — putting an Amazon link into a post is still something you do a hundred times a month. But it is no longer the expensive problem. On a site with a few hundred posts and a couple of years behind it, the money is lost in products that no longer exist, articles nobody links to and traffic landing on pages with nothing to click. If that describes your site, the case for moving is strong. Even on a thirty-post site there is now a simpler reason: a plugin removed from WordPress.org for a security issue should not stay on a live site.

Common questions
Is EasyAzon still maintained?
No. Its WordPress.org listing was closed on 4 June 2024 with the reason “Security Issue”, and easyazon.com now redirects to the AAWP website. Treat any copy still installed as unmaintained and plan to replace it.
Will my existing EasyAzon links keep working if I install Ama Affiliate Pro?
Yes. The two plugins use different shortcodes and do not interfere. Existing links keep rendering through EasyAzon for as long as it is active.
Can I convert EasyAzon links automatically?
Plain Amazon URLs typed into your content convert automatically with the Growth Tools converter. Another plugin’s shortcodes do not — they need converting per post, or you leave the old plugin active. On most older sites the hand-typed links are the majority.
Does Ama Affiliate Pro also localise international links?
Yes, and it routes on the reader’s real country rather than their browser language — a German reader on an English-language browser is sent to amazon.de, not amazon.com. You need an Associates account and tracking ID for each marketplace; countries you leave blank keep going to your main store exactly as they do today.
I have an old site and no idea what state it is in. Where do I start?
Run the Product Health Monitor and the Basic SEO Audit during the trial, before you write anything new. Both are read-only scans, and between them they will tell you how many dead products you have, how many posts have no Amazon element, and how many articles nothing links to. Fix those before adding more.
Do I need to keep paying to keep my product boxes?
No. Articles, shortcodes and product boxes keep rendering whether or not a licence is active; only AI generation, Analytics and the Growth Tools lock until you renew. Ask any tool you are considering the same question before you build a site on it.
Which is lighter on page speed?
Measure it rather than trusting either of us. Install one on a staging copy, run PageSpeed Insights on the same article twice, and compare. Product boxes are among the heaviest things on an affiliate page and the difference between implementations is real.
