Amazon Associates Australia commission rates: the best home and kitchen rates of the five big English-language stores.
10% on kitchen, home, furniture, fashion and tools. 0% on health and personal care. The full Amazon.com.au table, how it compares with four other stores, and the 100 AUD payout rule.
The short version
- Kitchen, home, furniture, tools and fashion pay 10%. More than double the US rate on kitchen and more than three times on home.
- Beauty, books and toys pay 8%. The best books and toys rate of the five stores compared here, and second only to India on beauty.
- Health and personal care pays 0%. So do personal care appliances. The line between “beauty” and “personal care” decides whether you earn 8% or nothing.
- 100 AUD minimum, bank deposit only, paid about 60 days after the end of the month.
Australia is the store most affiliate sites ignore, and for home and kitchen niches it pays better than the US, UK, Canada or India. A kitchen gadget that earns 4.5% on amazon.com earns 10% on amazon.com.au. If even a slice of your traffic is Australian, that difference is worth a few minutes of setup.
The rates below were copied from Amazon.com.au’s Standard Commission Income Schedule on 1 October 2026, and the payment and session rules from the programme policies, last updated 14 April 2026.

Beauty at 8%, personal care at 0%. Australia splits these more sharply than any other store. Skincare, make-up and fragrance usually sit under beauty. Electric toothbrushes, shavers, hair clippers and many health products usually sit under health & personal care or personal care appliances. A “best grooming kit” roundup can earn nothing at all here. Check the category on each product page before building the article around it.

Australia leads on kitchen, home, books and toys, and ties India at 10% on fashion. It is weakest on health (0%), and its 2% rate for computers, grocery and anything unnamed is among the lowest of the five. The pattern is clear enough to plan around: Australia rewards physical, lifestyle products and pays little on technology and consumables.
What a sale is actually worth
| Product | Price | Rate | You earn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air fryer (kitchen & small appliances) | $180 AUD | 10% | $18.00 |
| LEGO set (toys & games) | $120 AUD | 8% | $9.60 |
| Gaming laptop (computers) | $2,000 AUD | 2% | $40.00 |
| Electric toothbrush (personal care appliances) | $150 AUD | 0% | $0.00 |
The air fryer earns $18 at 10%; the same sale through amazon.com at 4.5% would earn less than half. The laptop still earns most per sale because of price, which is the usual caveat: rate is one input, not the decision. Our guide to choosing a niche on four factors puts the two together.
Bounties
| Bounty | Amount |
|---|---|
| Amazon Prime free trial, Prime Video free trial, Music Unlimited free trial | $4.00 |
| Baby wishlist created with at least one item; Kindle Unlimited free trial or 2–3 month promotional offer | $5.00 |
| Audible free trial, Audible membership, Audible Standard free trial or monthly membership | $10.00 |
The $10 Audible bounties are the best fixed payment on the page and fit naturally on book, commuting and self-improvement content. Amazon lists what disqualifies a bounty: invalid email addresses, bots or automated software, multiple or repetitive sign-ups by one person, sign-ups from your own IP address, and sign-ups that did not come through links on your site.
The rules that decide whether you get paid
- A 24-hour session. Ends after 24 hours, when the visitor places an order, or when they click another associate’s link.
- An 89-day cart window. Items added during your session count if the order completes within 89 days of the click.
- 100 AUD before anything is paid. Bank deposit only; gift card and cheque are listed as not available. Payment arrives about 60 days after month end.
- Prices need a timestamp. The policies’ own example is “Amazon.com.au Price: $88.99 (as of 01/07/2008 14:11 AEDT – Details)”.
What this means for a site with Australian readers
Kitchen, home, furniture, tools, fashion, toys and books are where Amazon.com.au pays best, and they are the niches where localising links earns the most. Australian visitors sent to amazon.com mostly leave, because of shipping and currency, and the ones who stay buy on a store where your Australian tag does not exist.
Localising Amazon links by country covers how to send each reader to their own store with their own tag. For automatic product data, Australia is in the Far East credential region for the Creators API, alongside Japan and Singapore, and needs its own approval and partner tag.
