Amazon Associates UK Commission Rates 2026: Every Category, Checked

Amazon.co.uk rates

Amazon Associates UK commission rates, every category, checked this month.

The full UK table copied from Amazon’s own schedule, how it compares with the US and three other stores, and the cookie, payout and free-Kindle rules that decide what you actually get paid.

Checked 1 Oct 2026 Official UK table UK vs US vs 3 more Payout rules

The short version

  • The UK range is 0% to 6%. Fashion and luxury top out at 6%; books, kitchen and home pay 5%.
  • Home, furniture and DIY pay more in the UK than in the US. 5% against 3%, which changes which niches are worth building in Britain.
  • The fallback is lower. Anything not named in the table pays 3% in the UK, against 4% in the US.
  • 24-hour cookie, 89-day basket, paid about 60 days after month end. Minimum £25 by bank deposit.

Most commission-rate pages quote the US table and stop. If your readers are in Britain, that table is the wrong one: Amazon.co.uk runs its own programme with its own rates, and in several of the categories affiliate sites live on, the UK pays noticeably more.

Everything below was copied from Amazon’s UK Standard Commission Income schedule and programme policies on 1 October 2026. Amazon changes these without notice, so the date matters.

The full UK commission table

Amazon calls these fixed commission income rates. They are applied to what Amazon receives for the item, excluding shipping, gift-wrapping and tax.

Source: Amazon.co.uk Associates, Standard Commission Income, checked 1 October 2026. Amazon decides which category a product belongs to, not the seller and not you.

Two oddities worth knowing. Kindle books pay 5% but Kindle Unlimited pays nothing. And wine sits at 0%, so a UK food-and-drink site earns nothing on the bottle it recommends, even when the reader buys it through your link.

UK against the US, Canada, Australia and India

The same product can earn very different amounts depending on which Amazon store your reader uses. Here are the categories affiliate sites actually write about, side by side:

Sources: each store’s own commission schedule, checked 1 October 2026 (US checked 25 August 2026). *Not named in the UK table, so it falls under the UK’s 3% “All Other Categories” rate. Category names differ between stores; rows group the closest equivalents.

Full tables for each store: US (amazon.com), Canada, Australia, India.

HOME & FURNITURE — SAME CATEGORY, FIVE STORES US 3.0% UK 5.0% Canada 6.0% Australia 10.0% India 5.0%
Home and furniture pay two-thirds more in the UK than in the US. A sofa-bed roundup is worth more to a British site than to an American one with the same traffic.

Two patterns stand out. The UK is generous on the big-ticket home categories and on fashion. It is mean on the fallback: an item Amazon does not file under a named category earns 3%, while the US gives 4%. Most affiliate content lands in named categories, so the UK comes out ahead for most sites, but a gadget blog whose products fall under “all other” earns less per sale in Britain.

What a sale is actually worth

Rate on its own tells you little. Rate times price is what lands in your account. Three typical UK recommendations:

ProductPriceCategory rateYou earn
Cordless drill (power & hand tools)£1205.0%£6.00
Running shoes (shoes)£906.0%£5.40
Robot vacuum (appliances)£3002.5%£7.50

The vacuum pays the lowest rate and still earns the most per sale, because of the price. That is the whole argument against picking a niche by commission percentage. Our guide to scoring a niche on four factors puts the rate in its proper place: one input, not the decision.

The rules that decide whether you get paid

FROM CLICK TO CASH — AMAZON UK Click session opens 24 hours to add to basket 89 days to complete the order ~60 days after month end: paid Ends the session early: the visitor places any order, or clicks another associate’s link. Not credited: anything added to the basket after the 24 hours are up. Minimum payout: £25 by bank deposit or gift card, £50 by cheque. From Amazon UK’s programme policies, checked 1 October 2026.
A sale in the last week of a month is not paid for roughly three months. Plan cash flow around the lag, not the rate.
  • A 24-hour session. It starts when the visitor clicks your link and ends after 24 hours, when they place an order, or when they click another associate’s link, whichever comes first.
  • An 89-day basket. Anything they add to the basket during your session still counts if they buy it within 89 days of the original click.
  • Paid about 60 days after month end. October’s commission arrives around the end of December.
  • A payment minimum. £25 by bank deposit or gift card, £50 by cheque. Below that, the balance rolls forward.
  • The free-Kindle rule. In any month where 10,000 or more free Kindle eBooks are ordered through your links and they make up at least 80% of your Kindle orders, you earn no commission at all that month. It is aimed at free-book deal sites, but it is all-or-nothing, so book bloggers should know it is there.

The UK schedule also defines direct purchases (the same category as the product you linked) and indirect ones (anything else), and says commission may vary between them. As checked, the special-conditions column is empty on every row, so today the table rate applies either way. In the US, Amazon changed how this works in April 2026; our US commission rate page explains what that did to American earnings. If a similar change reaches the UK, it will show up in that column first.

What this means for a UK-facing site

If most of your traffic is British, build around the 5% and 6% rows: home, kitchen, furniture, DIY tools, books, fashion. Be careful with appliances and electronics, where the rate drops to 2.5% or 3% and only price makes up the difference.

If your traffic is mixed, a single amazon.com link wastes the British half of it. A UK reader who lands on amazon.com usually leaves, and if they do buy, it is on a store where your UK account earns nothing. Localising links by country covers how to send each reader to their own store with the right tag, and why a redirect without a matching tag earns nothing. And note that the UK schedule links out to separate tables for France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Poland and Belgium: the paperwork is shared across Amazon’s European stores, but the rates are not.

Send UK readers to amazon.co.uk with the right tag

Ama Affiliate Pro detects the visitor’s country and swaps in the matching store and tracking tag, so a British reader on a US-focused site still earns you UK commission.

Common questions

What is the Amazon Associates UK commission rate?

Between 0% and 6% depending on the category. Clothing, shoes, watches and luxury pay 6%; books, kitchen, home, furniture, DIY and Kindle books pay 5%; beauty, luggage and sports pay 4%; appliances and mobile electronics pay 2.5%; grocery and video games pay 1%. Anything not named pays 3%.

Are UK Amazon commission rates higher than US rates?

In most of the categories affiliate sites write about, yes. Home and furniture pay 5% in the UK against 3% in the US, and clothing pays 6% against 4%. The exception is the fallback: unnamed categories pay 3% in the UK against 4% in the US.

How long is the Amazon UK affiliate cookie?

24 hours from the click. If the visitor adds a product to their basket during those 24 hours, you are credited if they buy it within 89 days of the original click. The session ends early if they place an order or click another associate’s link.

When does Amazon UK pay affiliates?

Approximately 60 days after the end of the month in which the commission was earned. The minimum payout is £25 by bank deposit or gift card, and £50 by cheque. Below the minimum, the balance carries forward.

Do I earn commission on things the visitor buys that I did not link to?

The UK schedule defines direct purchases (same category as the linked product) and indirect purchases (any other category), and says rates may vary between them. As checked in October 2026, every row’s special-conditions column is empty, so the table rate applies to both.

Can a UK associate earn from Amazon.com sales?

Not from the UK account. Each Amazon store runs its own Associates programme, tag and rate table. To earn from US visitors you join the US programme and send those visitors to amazon.com with your US tag.
