Amazon Associates India commission rates, and the long list of things that pay nothing.
The full Amazon.in table dated August 2026, the phones and products set to 0%, the bounties, and the ₹1,000 payout rule. Copied from Amazon’s own schedule this month.
The short version
- India pays 10% on fashion and beauty. The highest beauty rate of the five stores compared here, joint-highest on fashion with Australia, and against 3–4% in the US.
- Phones are where Indian affiliate income disappears. 1% at best, and 0% on every iPhone and dozens of named Android models.
- The fallback is generous. Anything not named pays 5%, the highest default of any store compared here.
- ₹1,000 minimum, paid about 60 days after month end. And the fee is inclusive of taxes, so budget for GST.
Amazon.in has the most complicated commission schedule of any Amazon store, and the reason is phones. The headline table is simple enough. Underneath it sits a model-by-model list of smartphones that earn 0% or 0.5%, then a list of products excluded entirely. A tech site that reviews phones can send Amazon hundreds of sales and be paid almost nothing.
Everything below comes from Amazon.in’s Associates Program Advertising Fee Schedule, whose table is headed “Advertising Rates (Aug 2026)”, and the Operating Agreement, both read on 1 October 2026.

The 0% list: phones, Apple and cheap audio
This is the part that decides whether an Indian tech site earns anything. Amazon.in sets a separate differential rate for named phone models, on top of the 1% headline:
| Rate | What Amazon.in lists (August 2026 table) |
|---|---|
| 0% | Every iPhone model; named Samsung Galaxy models including the S24, S24 Ultra, S25 Plus, A35, A55 and Fold6; named iQOO, Motorola Razr, Nokia, OnePlus, LAVA, Redmi, Xiaomi, HMD, Vivo, Honor, Oppo, Tecno, itel, POCO, Jio and Realme models |
| 0.5% | Named models including Redmi Note 14 and 15 series, OnePlus 13, 13R, 15 and Nord CE5, Samsung Fold7 and S26 series, Honor 200 and iQOO Z10 series |
| 1% | Any phone on neither list |
The list runs to well over a hundred models and changes as phones launch, so do not copy it into a spreadsheet and trust it for a year. Check a specific model against Amazon’s page before you build an article around it.
Then come the products that earn nothing regardless of category:
- Apple products — MacBooks, Apple Watch, iPads and PC accessories, at 0%.
- Earphones, headphones, speakers and audio accessories under ₹3,000 MRP, at 0%. Headsets from a named list of brands (including Apple, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Samsung, pTron, Portronics, Mivi and Jabra) pay 4%.
- Microwaves and semi-automatic washing machines, at 0%.
- Excluded entirely: flight bookings and gift cards, video gaming consoles and hardware, Prime membership, Kindle eBooks, and gold and silver coins.
“Best phones under ₹20,000” is one of the most written-about affiliate topics in India, and one of the worst-paid. If a phone roundup is your traffic engine, the money has to come from the 4% mobile accessories row: cases, chargers, power banks. Build the internal links that way round.

| All other categories | 5.0% | 4.0% | 3.0% | 2.0% | 2.0% |
Sources: each store’s own commission schedule, checked 1 October 2026 (US checked 25 August 2026). *Not named in the UK table, so it falls under the UK’s 3% “All Other Categories” rate. Category names differ between stores; rows group the closest equivalents.
Full tables for each store: US (amazon.com), UK, Canada, Australia.
Read the table by row rather than by column. India leads on beauty, sports, health, grocery and computers, ties Australia on fashion, and has the highest fallback rate of the five. It trails Australia on books, toys, home and kitchen, and Canada on pet supplies. And it is the only one of the five that publishes a model-level phone list, which is why the “computers and electronics” rows understate how little a phone site earns.
What a sale is actually worth
| Product | Price | Rate | You earn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Running shoes (shoes) | ₹4,000 | 10% | ₹400 |
| Mixer grinder (kitchen) | ₹3,500 | 5% | ₹175 |
| Laptop (personal computers) | ₹55,000 | 3.5% | ₹1,925 |
| iPhone | ₹80,000 | 0% | ₹0 |
One laptop sale clears the ₹1,000 payment threshold on its own. Eighty thousand rupees of iPhone does not move it at all. The point is not to avoid big-ticket items; it is to check the row before you write. Our guide to choosing a niche on four factors treats rate as one input among four for exactly this reason.
Bounties
Amazon.in also pays fixed amounts for sign-ups, listed in Table 2 of the schedule:
| Bounty | Amount |
|---|---|
| Paid Prime membership (amazon.in or primevideo.com) | ₹100 |
| Prime Music first stream, or Prime paid membership via Prime Music | ₹100 |
| Audible free trial or Audible paid membership | ₹150 |
| Amazon Business account registration | ₹200 |
| Sell on Amazon: completed registration | ₹10 |
| Sell on Amazon: GST-validated registration | ₹400 |
The ₹400 seller bounty is the biggest fixed payment on the page. If your audience includes small business owners, a page about selling on Amazon earns more per conversion than most product reviews.
The rules that decide whether you get paid
- A 24-hour session. Ends after 24 hours, when the visitor places an order, or when they click another associate’s link.
- An 89-day cart window. Items added to the cart during your session still count if ordered within 89 days of the click.
- Paid about 60 days after month end, once you are owed at least ₹1,000 by NEFT.
- Taxes are inside the fee. The agreement says the advertising fee is inclusive of all taxes, including GST, that you may be required to remit. If you are GST-registered, the rate in the table is not all yours.
What this means for an Indian-audience site
Build around fashion, beauty, books, toys, kitchen and home, where Amazon.in pays as well as or better than any other store. Treat phones as a traffic category rather than an earning one. And if your audience is split between India and elsewhere, one amazon.com link earns you nothing from the Indian half: localising links by country explains how to send each reader to their own store with the right tag.
For the Amazon.in API, note that India sits in Amazon’s Europe credential region, not Asia. Our guide to the Creators API covers which credential version to use and why getting it wrong looks like a broken key.

Send Indian readers to amazon.in with your Indian tag
Ama Affiliate Pro detects each visitor’s country and rewrites Amazon links to their own store and tag, so a mixed-audience site stops losing its Indian commissions to the wrong marketplace.

What is the Amazon Associates India commission rate?
Between 0% and 10% depending on the category, per Amazon.in’s table dated August 2026. Apparel, shoes, luggage, watches and beauty pay 10%; books, toys, baby, automotive and sports pay 5.9%; kitchen, home and furniture pay 5%; electronics and computers pay 3.5%; mobile phones pay 1%; anything not named pays 5%.
Why do I earn nothing on iPhones from Amazon.in?
Amazon.in lists all iPhone models at 0%, along with dozens of named Samsung, OnePlus, Redmi, iQOO, Vivo, Oppo, Realme and other models. A second list of phones earns 0.5%. Only phones on neither list earn the standard 1% mobile phone rate.
Which Amazon.in products pay no commission at all?
Flight bookings and gift cards, video gaming consoles and hardware, Prime membership, Kindle eBooks, and gold and silver coins earn nothing. So do Apple products such as MacBooks, iPads and Apple Watch, earphones, headphones and speakers under ₹3,000 MRP, and microwaves and semi-automatic washing machines.
What is the minimum payout for Amazon Associates India?
Amazon may hold your earnings until they reach ₹1,000 for NEFT bank transfers. Payment arrives approximately 60 days after the end of the month in which it was earned, and the agreement says the fee is inclusive of all applicable taxes.
How long is the Amazon India affiliate cookie?
24 hours from the click. Products the visitor adds to their cart during that time still count if they order within 89 days of the original click. The session ends early if they place an order or click another associate’s link.
Does Amazon.in pay bounties?
Yes. Table 2 lists fixed payments, including ₹100 for a paid Prime membership, ₹200 for an Amazon Business registration, ₹150 for an Audible free trial or paid plan, and ₹400 for a GST-validated Sell on Amazon registration.
