Amazon Affiliate Plugins After PA-API: Which Ones Still Work (Checked October 2026)

Plugins

Amazon affiliate plugins after PA-API: which ones still work.

PA-API 5 now answers with an error, so any plugin still calling it shows stale or empty product boxes. We checked seven plugins on their own sites and changelogs. Here is what each one does now.

Checked 1 Oct 2026 7 plugins From vendors’ own pages We make one of them

Who wrote this. We make Ama Affiliate Pro, one of the seven plugins below, so we are not neutral. What we can offer instead is checkability: each row names the page it came from, and every one of those pages is public.

The short version

  • Amazon switched off PA-API 5. Plugins now need Creators API credentials, which look different: a Credential ID, a Secret and a Version.
  • AAWP, Lasso, Content Egg, AzonPress and Ama Affiliate Pro all support the Creators API, according to their own documentation.
  • EasyAzon is gone. WordPress.org closed it for a security issue in 2024, and its domain now redirects to AAWP.
  • Most offer a way to show products without your own API access. That matters if your account has not been approved yet.

On the old setup, product boxes kept working for months after anything changed, because plugins cached prices and images. That buffer is gone now. Amazon’s PA-API 5 was deprecated on 30 April 2026 and switched off on 15 May, and calls to it are refused. A plugin that has not moved to the Creators API cannot refresh a single product. Our Creators API explainer covers what changed underneath.

“Works” means the vendor’s own documentation describes Creators API support or a working route to Amazon data. It does not mean we installed every plugin and tested it; we did not. For the full feature-by-feature view, see the plugin comparison.

How to check the plugin you already have

THREE CHECKS, FIVE MINUTES 1 · The settings form ✓ Credential ID ✓ Secret, Version ✗ Access Key ✗ Secret Key 2 · The changelog Search it for “Creators API”. No entry since May 2026 is a warning sign. 3 · A live refresh Refresh one product box by hand. An error or an unchanged price is your answer. All three fail? The plugin is still calling PA-API. Its product boxes are showing whatever was cached before May.
The settings form is the quickest tell. Lasso’s own help centre warns that “Access Key” and “Secret Key” belong to older documentation.

What each vendor’s pages actually say

AAWP

The changelog added support for Creators API credentials in version 5.0.5 on 27 February 2026, and has fixed Creators API problems in most releases since. Two entries are worth knowing. Version 5.0.9 (9 July 2026) fixed an unauthenticated SQL injection in click tracking, so anyone below that should update. And 5.1.0 (3 September 2026) raised the minimum PHP version to 8.1, which some older hosts will not meet. AAWP also sells “AAWP API Access”, which it describes as Amazon product data without the official API. Our AAWP comparison covers the rest.

Lasso

Lasso’s help article on Amazon credentials has been rewritten for the Creators API. It asks for a Credential ID, Secret and Version, and says only Lasso Lite needs your own credentials; on paid plans Lasso supplies the Amazon data, and your own keys just make it faster.

Content Egg

Content Egg offers an “Amazon No-API module” so you can build before your Creators API access is approved, then switch. That matters because Amazon’s own Creators API introduction asks for at least 10 qualifying sales within the past 30 days, a rolling window. Our guide to showing products while you work towards those 10 sales covers that gap.

AzonPress

AzonPress shows Creators API support on its homepage and says you do not need the Amazon API for basic features, with manual entry of links and product details as the fallback.

EasyAzon and AmaLinks Pro

EasyAzon is finished: WordPress.org closed it on 4 June 2024 with the reason “Security Issue”, and easyazon.com now redirects to AAWP. Our EasyAzon page is now a migration guide. AmaLinks Pro we could not check at all; its site returned a server error when we tried on 1 October, so we are not making any claim about it either way.

If your account has no API access yet

THREE ROUTES TO PRODUCT DATA Your own API Creators API credentials Needs an approved account Free, fastest, official A paid data service The vendor’s or a third party’s AAWP API, Lasso paid plans Monthly cost, no approval No API at all Manual details, plain links Content Egg No-API module Free, but prices go stale
Amazon’s policies limit how you may show prices without live data, so a no-API box should not display a price it cannot refresh.

Our guide to adding Amazon products without API access walks through the no-API route step by step. If your plugin is showing an error rather than old data, the access-denied error guide lists each error code and its fix.

Already on the Creators API

Ama Affiliate Pro uses your Creators API credentials when you have them, a paid data provider if you choose one, and a no-API mode otherwise, so product boxes keep working while your account is still being approved.

Common questions

Does AAWP work with the Amazon Creators API?

Yes. AAWP’s changelog lists support for Creators API credentials from version 5.0.5 (27 February 2026), and later releases fix Creators API issues. AAWP also sells its own API access for people without Amazon API approval.

Does Lasso still work after PA-API was retired?

Yes. Lasso’s help centre now asks for Creators API credentials (Credential ID, Secret and Version). It says only Lasso Lite needs your own credentials; paid plans get Amazon data through Lasso.

Is EasyAzon still available?

No. Its WordPress.org listing was closed on 4 June 2024 with the reason “Security Issue”, and easyazon.com now redirects to the AAWP website.

How do I know if my Amazon plugin uses the old PA-API?

Look at its Amazon settings. Creators API credentials are a Credential ID, a Secret and a Version. If the plugin still asks for an Access Key and Secret Key, that is the old PA-API form, and Amazon now refuses those calls.

Can I show Amazon products without API access?

Yes, with most of these plugins. Content Egg has a no-API module, AzonPress says basic features work without the API, Lasso’s paid plans fetch data for you, and AAWP sells its own API access. You can also place plain affiliate links by hand.

How many sales do I need for Creators API access?

Ten. Amazon’s Creators API introduction page requires at least 10 qualifying sales within the past 30 days. It is a rolling window, so access can lapse if sales drop.
